Late in the evening, unexpectedly, within the span of just a few hours, houses as well as Salih's photos in the office of the former minister Sidikereve were singled out as the only recent proof of the “Islamic terrorist.” In those days when much was said about the arrest of several Arabs as terrorists at Rinas airport, in the city of Shijak, and of engineering students and residents of the “village of Muslims” in Librazhd, the police were also arresting Albanians or even journalists. This is the first proof that “Islam” is being turned into an alibi to strike at rivals. Moreover, even if the explanation were justified, the police account could not be read as anything other than manipulation. No one could believe that that Arab who was being passed off as a student was actually one, because his exact name was not even known.
In the course of the checks, it is striking that a large part of the files has no accompanying document, no authorization, and no complete report. Entries and exits are missing, the justifications are missing, and the signatures are missing. Under these circumstances, the claim that everything was carried out according to law has no basis. On the contrary, everything looks like a silent mechanism for removing unwanted persons from the country.
There are serious suspicions that the documentation has been manipulated or concealed. Names appearing on one list are not found on another. Dates recorded in one register do not match the dates of the orders. If these are not administrative mistakes, then we are dealing with an organized operation.
The main concern is linked to the question: who ordered this operation and on what support? If it is proven that there was institutional cooperation, then responsibility is not individual, but state responsibility.
In the end, the question remains the same: was the label of “Islamic terrorist” used for political cleansing and for propaganda strikes? If so, that means a dark episode was built on suspicious documents and on the deliberate silence of the institutions.
